Biomedical Data Management
An increasing amount of data is generated to support health
care, ranging from Electronic Health Records (EHRs) to Biomedical literature.
The goal of this group is to create tools and methods to maximize the utility of
this data in terms of quality of care and cost savings.
We study various parts of the lifespan of biomedical data including:
-
Efficient data entry and Information Extraction in clinical notes.
-
Search EHRs and biomedical literature.
-
Leverage biomedical ontologies and dictionaries to improve data entry and
search.
-
Build smart and user-friendly user interfaces for EHR systems and biomedical
knowledge repositories.
-
Facilitate effective communication among health care stakeholders.
